Post Tensioned Masonry

Post tensioning certainly isn't new to construction. The process of tensioning high strength tendons embedded in concrete structural elements has been used for many years. Several post tension masonry systems for buildings have been developed and successfully used. It is a proven technique. The brilliance of Proto II™ Wall Systems is in its application of post tensioning to free-standing masonry fence walls and to masonry retaining walls, earning patents on the methods, not just on parts and pieces. (And it's earned high marks after independent examination.)

Simply, a better wall by design

Using post tension as the design basis for masonry transforms a wall from a heavy, static, and brittle structure composed of bonded parts to a light, ductile, unified element where the wall and footing are compressed together to act as one. With an increase in efficiency, greater performance is achieved from the materials.
